Bubbles Make Kids Smile

A bubble sensory center is the perfect way to keep kids of all ages smiling.  It is not only fun, but since babies and young toddlers learn through their senses, this is a great learning experience!  The set up is easy- fill a shallow container with warm water and add a small amount of dish soap.  If your sink has an aerator or spray hose, use it to make the tub especially foamy.

This project starts out as an exploration.  Usually kids will explore the feel of the bubbles and look at their hands as the bubbles coat them, but be aware that it may progress to a messier phase where the kids may fling bubbles.  They might even try to climb in!  Be ready with a towel if you do this inside or the floor will get very slippery.   Also- NEVER leave children unattended.  Remove the water from reach if you need to leave the room.

When you are finished, use the soapy water to wash some dirty toys, and then dump the extra water on a plant that needs watered.  Soap won't hurt the plants, and it's a great way to reuse the water!  Happy bubbles!
